They are all wish granters, celebrating World Wish Day 2012. April 29, 1980 was the day one boy's wish inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish and since that day, hundreds of thousands of wishes have been granted across the globe.
Thank you Mass Mutual and Fore Organized Golf: Last Fall, Fore Organized Golf (FOG), a San Diego-based organization, selected The Bone Marrow Foundation as a beneficiary of its Asian Pacific Open. One of the tournament sponsors, Mass Mutual, made a generous $2,000 donation to the Foundation.
My friend's 2yr old son, Samuel, has a rare immune deficiency called Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD); his white blood cells lack the ability to kill bacteria and fungus, making him prone to infections, which can lead to organ failure. Samuel has been hospitalized 6 times. Roberts boosts visibility of bone marrow transplants
Students at University of Virginia are using their athletic skills to raise money for the fight against cancer by taking part in the 25th Annual Cancer Shootout at Carrs Field. UVA student athletes spent the day playing football, soccer, and other sports with kids - to raise money for cancer research. All proceeds from Sunday's shootout will support the UVA Cancer Center's work on leukemia and bone marrow transplants.
