Tips. Use at least 6 8-ounce jars and never fill more than one half full. Grease the inside of your jars. Wipe out any batter that clings to the sides. Cakes bake faster – check on them. While jars are hot, screw the caps on. They seal! Refrigerate the jars until you’re ready to eat them. Use 2 separate cake batters (chocolate cake and a vanilla cake).
Sending a Birthday cake to deployed service members! Sending my hubby one!!! <3 Bake in a mason jar and put the lid on while the cake is hot.The jar will seal and the cake is thought to last about six months! Send icing along and decorate the jar with ribbons, stickers, glass paint, etc! I can't wait to send one!
