It is really amazing how designer Peter Mendelsund manages to present the themes of Kafka's model just by creating this simple shapes and just a few colors. The minimalistic style of this cover is part of a series he created of Kafka's novels.
Franz Kafka (3 July 1883 – 3 June 1924) was an influential German-language author of novels and short stories who is regarded as one of the great writers of the 20th century. The term "Kafkaesque" has entered the English language to describe surreal situations reminiscent of those in his writing.
Orson Welles directs this adaptation of Kafka's "The Trial" about a man who wakes up in the morning with the police in his room. They tell him that he is on trial but nobody tells him what he is accused of. In order to find out about the reason of the accusation and to protest his innocence, he tries to look behind the facade of the judicial system.
