1806 Charlotte Roe, Virgil NY. NMAH Smithsonian

This quilt was made in the 1750s in Limerick, Ireland, by Elizabeth Bennis. She emigrated to Philadelphia at the age of 69, and brought the quilt with her. It hangs today in Winterthur Museum, Delaware.

Had a fantastic day yesterday at the Quilt Museum and Gallery in York... This was my favourite antique quilt on display!!! It was magic to see it up close in its entirety #somersetpatchwork
