As the saying goes "muscle burns fat" resistance training is an essential part of fitness.  Girls don't be afraid of weights they do a body good.  You  want to boost that metabolism right?  You won't get huge just toned and trim.  You'll turn into a fat burning machine.  I make sure to incorporate weight training at least 3 days a week in addition to cardio.  Guess why I'm posting this????  Cause I'm off to lift.  Chest & Back X style with a little benching and HIIT to follow.
