Revive Dried Out Permanent Markers with Rubbing Alcohol This did not work at all for me, and I tried several times. What I did FIND that worked was fingernail polish remover, the kind with acetate. I've actually ran out of ink and added different inks and made my own colors. I had read about this method in my pre Pinterest day's and can not find the link again. I carefully removed the nib, used a syringe to add the fingernail polish remover (and ink if needed) and replaced the nib.
