NEWS ARTICLE - 3 more Chinese ships spotted in Ayungin Shoal - By Jaime Laude, The Philippine Star Posted at 06/05/2013 7:49 AM ---- China has been deploying ships in Ayungin Shoal for almost a month now.  At one point, several Chinese missile-firing frigates were also monitored in the area.  Last month, the Chinese frigates disappeared when the USS Nimitz launched a two-day naval exercise.

NEWS ARTICLE:  USS GW Arrives in Busan.  Posted on Oct 4th, 2013. “Port visits to Busan are aimed to build friendships and goodwill with the people of the Republic of Korea,” said Lt. Cmdr. Young Song, GW’s chaplain. Sailors assigned to the carrier are also scheduled to participate in 4 sports events, including rugby, soccer, basketball and softball. GW last visited Busan in 2012.
