GENT’S EVERYDAY WOOL COAT and BREECHES, 1800-1820. Oatmeal double breasted cutaway style with velvet collar, steel buttons, rear flap pockets, back vent flanked by stitched down pleats having top and bottom button detail, glazed linen lining. Ch-36, W-34, Sh-15, Slv- 24.

GENT’S EVERYDAY WOOL COAT and BREECHES, 1800-1820. Oatmeal double breasted cutaway style with velvet collar, steel buttons, rear flap pockets, back vent flanked by stitched down pleats having top and bottom button detail, glazed linen lining. Ch-36, W-34, Sh-15, Slv- 24.

I could have used this image while trying to get Nick out of his breeches. 1790s breeches. Detail of breeches' opening. Natural colour linen. Narrow fall front, fastening with self-covered buttons. Brass buttons at waist (may not be original). Knee fastening with buttons and a strap. Fob pocket on right hand side. Side pockets closed with a button. Typical loose fitting at the back.
