Options Texas Parks and Wildlife shared Texas Parks and Wildlife - Mustang Island State Park's photo. This Kemp's Ridley sea turtle laid her eggs at Mustang Island State Park. Rangers marked the nest of this endangered species so a biologist from Padre Island National Seashore could tag the turtle and collect the eggs for protected hatch and release. Defenders of Wildlife Here’s something you don’t see often — because this is the first time it’s been caught on camera! This photo, captured earlier this year, shows an uncollared Florida panther moving her kittens to a new den in the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge. There are only about 100 to 160 of these endangered big cats left in the wild, and they’ve had an especially rough time of it this year.
