Stallion Merveillous - his exact breeding is unknown, but he's described as of Iberian ancestry (ONC Espagnol in French). The color is sooty dunalino, it's tested according the pages. So despite of the dark legs, this is a chestnut with dun gene and a single cream gene.

I wander if Aisha will look more like this as she ages. Sugar got more and more spots as she aged. Reverse Leopard Sorrel Appaloosa. Such a cool face.

This photo was taken in May 2004 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The horse, Stephan's Angel, was not very happy being saddled for the Miss Preakness Stakes and leaped straight up in the air. She went on to finish second in the race and is now a broodmare on a farm in Kentucky. This photo was printed in Mid Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine and won the Eclipse Award for best thoroughbred horse racing photo of 2004.
