DEREK & THE DOMINOS ~ Layla ~ Released in 1970, Layla is one of the most known and loved rock songs of all time. Originally a ballad composed by Clapton about his unrequited love for Pattie Boyd, (George Harrison's wife), it was turned it into the rocker it is today by Duane Allman. It was released on the album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs", which was Derek and the Dominos' sole album.
