Friends School Art - Great idea to teach color mixing - students each collected three leaves from outside and then they were lined up monochromatically. Students then learn how to mix the different shades of green.
Rhyming Basket - Objects are placed in a basket and the basket is passed around the circle. As each child gets the basket, teacher says a word (such as “fizzers”) and they pull out the object that rhymes (“scissors”). You can use any objects, because it doesn’t matter if the rhyming words are real words or nonsense words.
Beginning a class or school year with this question would serve as a basis for teaching the specific students. Keeping this board up all year would also serve as a reminder to the importance of art. Also, allowing students to read what their peers have written might create critical thinking that they did not initially think of.
