Norfolk pie: Brown 500g turkey mince, 1 medium onion, finely chopped and 1-2 large carrots, finely sliced in olive oil. Add 2 tbs flour, then 2 tbs tomato puree, 300ml chicken stock, 1 tsp dried tarragon (or 1/2 tbs fresh) and a handful of rolled oats. Simmer 15 mins, add large handful frozen peas, season and simmer 5 mins. EASY ONION RINGS 1 egg 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 cup milk 1 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 large sweet onions, sliced 1/2 cup flour (for coating onions) oil (for frying) Directions: 1. Mix egg, oil, and milk on low speed of mixer for 1 minute. 2. Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth. 3. Coat onions in flour. 4. Dip in batter. 5. Fry in hot oil 375* until desired shade of brown.
