Trim Castle, Co. Meath, Ireland - the ruins are all that remains of Ireland's largest Anglo-Norman castle. Construction on the castle started in 1175 by by Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter during the Norman Invasion of Ireland.  The castle was used in the movie Braveheart.

Selby Abbey. was Catholic Church and abbey It was founded by Benedict of Auxerre in 1069 and subsequently built by the de Lacy family. It is now an Anglican parish church. A notable feature of the abbey is the 15th century Washington Window, featuring the heraldic arms of the ancestors of George Washington, the first president of the United States.
