Raised in South Carolina and New York, Woodson always felt halfway home in each place. In vivid poems, she shares what it was like to grow up as an African American in the 1960s and 1970s, living with the remnants of Jim Crow and her growing awareness of the Civil Rights movement. - See more at: http://www.buffalolib.org/vufind/Record/1949030/Reviews#tabnav
Angelfall is a post apocolyptic book with a strong young heroine fighting to save her sister and a handsome Angel with his soul on the line. This is a bit dark at times, but is a quick read with lots of action, heart and a bit of romance. This is the first in a series and I've read it twice while eagerly awaiting the second novel. I am a fan of the Hunger Games and this is up there with it for me.
