Dunnotar Castle - Stonehaven - William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots, the Marquis of Montrose and King Charles II, all graced the Castle with their presence. It was at Dunnottar Castle that a small garrison held out against Cromwell’s army for eight months. By close of the 14th century, Dunnottar was firmly under Scottish control, under the Clan Keith.

Approx. 100,000 Irish Catholic men, women and children were enslaved in the British West Indies & British North America after the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland in the 17th century.
