An exceptionally rare Tudor Memento Mori ring, circa1550-1600. Such rings were a timely reminder of the importance of spiritual preparation for death. One is listed in Henry VIII’s inventory: “A ring of golde with a deathes hedde.”
A Vintage Art Deco Demantoid and Diamond Ring Moscow, circa 1930 An elaborate openwork silver and gold ring features a very fine vivid green Russian demantoid garnet in a surrounding of 34 rose cut diamonds. The demantoid is 5.6 x 3.4 mm, approximately 0.75 ct. Estimated total diamond weight - 0.55 ct.
