White Rock spillway  overflowed. This is looking up Garland Road from the Gaston Avenue interchange, Dallas, Texas. The train trestle has now been replacing with a walking trail. The actual spillway is beyond the trestle about a half block. Notice the Pig Stand sign on the left.  Photo probably taken between 1937 and 1939.

The Ford Motor Co. plant opened in Old East Dallas, Texas in 1924 and dominated the Jubilee neighborhood for decades.  In the 1930s, the Dallas plant put oval stickers in the rear windows of cars that read “Built in Texas by Texas Labor.” In 1947, the millionth Texas Ford automobile rolled off the line. But the plant layout became obsolete, and in 1970, the Ford plant shut down.
