Since 2018, MAF has been supporting Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps in Democratic Republic of Congo where approx. 5.5 million IDPs are living. At some camps, MAF is teaching women how to sew – a skill that will boost their confidence and generate a sustainable income. MAF is also providing counsellors to help them heal from the trauma. Every month, these counsellors and sewing teachers receive up-to-date training, which provide women and their families with the best possible support.
