Rebekah Merlino: 'Painting was therapy' | Rebekah Merlino was a soldier, and now is an artist. The painting is reflective of her experience in Afghanistan. It’s what she painted when she returned, struggling with all she had seen and experienced. It’s what helped her come to terms with her post traumatic stress disorder.
To facilitate the ability of veterans to express themselves in a variety of art forms through a progressive program of supportive instruction and collaboration. The idea grew to give veterans the chance to explore the wide options available to optimize their choices for different media, communities, and physical spaces. Feeling nurtured and safe was paramount. We were incorporated in the State of Minnesota as a non-profit corporation in 2010, and in 2011 we began offering classes.
