Wilma Mankiller    An excellent example of what women can   achieve. She was the first woman deputy chief and the first woman principal chief of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Her work  among the Indian Nation was caring and exemplary as she worked for N/A & women's rights.   She was a cultural & spiritual leader and hero to many. In 1998 Pres. Clinton awarded her the Presidents Medal of Freedom, the  civilian's highest medal of honor.
