Rug - Kente

Inspired by Ghana’s Kente cloth. Kente cloth emanates from the small town of Bonwire in Ghana, where it was originally woven in silks for the royals of the C18 Ashanti Empire. Traditionally this textile is intricately patterned, using a wide variety of colours and shapes. Stories and proverbs are attached to each design which relate to the weaver’s clan and their values. The cloth can symbolise innovation, creativity and peace.
