Terence Tenison Cuneo

1 Nov 1907 (the same day as my own Dad !!) - 1996. British artist. Invariably painted industrial subjects unless acting as illustrator for books. All were done with extraordinary attention to accuracy of detail - even down to his trademark mouse to be found in most of the works.

London Midland Electrification - Still Making Good Progress, by John Greene. An artistic view of the "New" Stafford station constructed using the modern "Brutalist" architectural style in 1962. The station was completely rebuilt, with modern fluorescent lighting and facilities, and clean lines. The blue Class 81 electric locomotive was also new, and showed the up-to-the-minute modern trains on offer at the new station. Visit the Festiniog Railway in the Centenary Year of Passenger Services 1965 (The Pass Track). In May 1964, Cuneo visited the Welsh narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway to make sketches and take photographs for what was to become the painting of trains passing at Tan-y-Bwlch, which was to be re-produced in many forms on posters during the 1960s.
