Rachel | DIY & Design on Instagram: "DIY Mantel ✨️ Three years ago, we added the shiplap boards to our fireplace, painted it white, and made a small mantel. A year later, I painted the shiplap with Iron Ore in satin, and we made a larger, more substantial mantel. I really love how it turned out! Mantel dimensions: 56.5" wide 7" deep 6.5" high Mantel color: @rustoleum chalked aged glaze stain You may be wondering how the mantel was added to the fireplace. We added a 2x4 board to the fireplace and set the mantel on top of that. Secured it with a few screws. Check out the mantel highlight on my profile where I show this.
