Richard Serra, Verb List, 1967-68, graphite on paper, 2 sheets, each 10 x 8 1/2 inches (25.4 x 21.6 cm). The Museum of Modern Art, New York. Serra was in his late twenties when he created Verb List in 1967–68. At the time, he did not consider it a work of art but thought of it as a way of figuring out his own direction as a young artist.
