The Oldest Treehouse In The World

This treehouse is built into a 900 year old lime tree in the village of Pitchford in Shropshire in England. The main house was built in the seventeenth century and was visited by Queen Victoria when a thirteen year old princess in 1832.She thought it very quaint! It is modelled on the nearby Pitchford Hall,a huge half timbered Elizabethan hall. The village of Pitchford is called after the nearby pitch well, used by the Romans from the nearby city of Wroxeter which was even larger than Londinium.
