Don't Give Up
I see a fox as an adventure and freedom spirit. I know foxes usually don’t travel by boats, but who said they can’t?
a painting of a shell and leaf on a blue background with white clouds in the sky
A Snail and Its Mask
A Snail is my first-ever attempt at using oils. As mature painting course students we had been given a task to paint a plaster ball. I painted the thing and then somehow the snail appeared. Even though my mate said it’s a cucumber salad with slag, I assure you that this is a snail.
two paintings one is yellow and the other is blue
Autumn Equinox
The autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere marks the first day of autumn, when day and night are almost equal, and the earth is ready to meet the colder season.
a painting with an image of a person on it's face and many other things in the background
The Angel with the Seal
Who decides whether you will be born smart or thick, pretty or ugly; born into poverty or into wealth?

The Cocoon
In Celtic mythology, the spider was associated with the Welsh goddess Arianrhod. Her name meant ‘a silver wheel’. She was a weaver of the universe, a Mother of stars, a Mother weaver.

Moon Phases - Surrealist Art
Waxing crescent, full moon, waning crescent and many stages in between, and Hecate’s triple moon dog — in a process of constant movement.
an abstract painting with lots of different shapes and sizes on it's surface, including trees
Latvian Signs
Latvian signs or symbols are ancient mythological symbols. Each symbol represents either deity or nature’s occurrences and concepts and has a meaning of protection or encouragement — i.e. symbols of the sun and earth, experience and knowledge, unity and world order, linking past, present, and future, luck, blessings, and success.

SHE DANCES IN A RING OF FIRE - Surrealism
“She dances in a ring of fire and throws off the challenge with a shrug.” — Jim Morrison
a painting of a woman with an orange hat and blue necklace holding a yellow umbrella
Firebird - Surrealism
In Slavic folklore, the Firebird is a magical glowing bird from a faraway land, which is both a blessing and a bringer of doom to its captor. So, the Firebird must stay free out of the cage to bring you happiness. The story of the Firebird has inspired many literary and musical works. The most famous was the ballet and orchestral concert work by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky.
an oil painting of two mushrooms and a banana peel on a brown background with red spots
Father and Son - Surrealism
Homage to my Old Believers side of the family, members of a group of Russian religious dissenters who refused to accept the liturgical reforms imposed upon the Russian Orthodox Church in the 17th century. Two horses represent two parts of the Russian Church — the old one and the new one.

Neurodiversity
Neurodiversity is the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one “right” way of thinking, learning, and behaving, and differences are not viewed as deficits. This creature is not a dog, cat or fish, and neither can it be described as a bird or a snake, yet, we can see it’s unique and alive. This work is dedicated to my ADHD, autistic, dyspraxic etc folks – I love you.
an abstract painting depicting two women hugging and surrounded by red, orange and black colors
Lollipop Factory
For the dark night of the soul… The nigredo, or blackness, means putrefaction or decomposition as a first step in the pathway to the philosopher’s stone. Our dark emotions, experiences and feelings are cleansed and cooked extensively to a uniform black matter which then can become a base for the rebirth of the soul.
an abstract painting of a man's face with many different colors and shapes on it
The Egghead
This little painting was a result of pareidolia where in chaotic paint splashes I saw a face which somehow reminded me of Philip K Dick’s novel about a man in a high castle. It was set in 1962 after Second World War which has been over for seventeen years, but its outcome was very different than in our reality: America has been divided between the Nazis and the Japanese etc. And in the neutral buffer zone that divided the two superpowers there lived the man in the high castle.
