Rare antique C.F. Monroe Wavecrest opal ware pink and white Art Nouveau mold blown hand painted floral biscuit jar with lid and handle. The C.F. Monroe Glass Company of Connecticut began business about 1886 and closed in 1916. This is an amazing example from the the mid 1890's - 1900. From a local estate. Wonderful antique condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, repairs or damage. The hand painted flower show no wear. The Art Nouveau design brass handle and band, and the brass cover show normal patina for brass of this age. This could use a cleaning, I just dusted it with a soft plush cloth. Width/Diameter; 7 Inches Height of jar; 4 1/2 inches. Total height to the top of the handle; 8 3/8 inches. Opening; 4 inches. Bottom/base; 5 3/4 inches. Color; Pink and white with green and
