One of the things you have to do when you study drama is read plays. A lot of them. They're much harder to read than stories in my opinion. That being said, 'Saved' by Edward Bond is gritty, dark and political. It makes you realise that, we may be products of our environment but it doesn't matter where you come from. It matters where you go.
