We asked for your photos of birds visiting your gardens for food and drink. Robins, finches and long-tailed tits were some of the stars of the show

British Robins .Wherever I've lived there has always been a robin who has totally befriended me -  It's unusual to see two sitting together like this; despite their endearing image they are very aggressive little birds, and will fight to the death over their territory.

“I was aksin’ if you see much of your granddaddy these days.”  Jim felt as if the stuffing had been knocked out of him. But how could he expect the boy to give a little if he clammed up every time Shamayal asked a question? “He died.”  Embarrassed, the boy shuffled in his seat.   “It happened in his garden.
