Classic Bauhaus style cantilever frame dining chair produced with blue frames and reupholstered seats and backs and beech capped arms. Of good size and proportion the chairs are very comfortable with a slight spring thanks to the classic cantilever frame. The upholstery has been replaced by our workshop with a cotton/linen velvet. Made for a theatre in Vienna these are well documented original Thonet seats and are exceptionally rare. This is one of their most recognised and rare stacking dining chairs. In excellent condition for their age they are beautifully made in Beech wood with a solid finger joint leg construction that is bolted to the frame and great underframe detail.

The chair was renowned as a marketing tool for the major brewers often stamped with the brewers name and given to the pubs/bars at substantial discount to help promote their beer. Good practical stacking outdoor chairs restored by our workshop and in good strong condition.

Our chairs are sourced by ourselves in Czech, then restored and fully re-upholstered using UK flame resistant foam and fabrics throughout. Beautifully upholstered in a linen-cotton blend heavyweight oxford fabric these chairs are fully restored and exceptionally comfortable with the very gentle spring movement given by the cantilever frames.
