Scandinavian Embroidery
An oldy but goody - published in 1978, if you have an interest in Scandinavian embroidery, especially history, this is a good book! Not a lot of surface embroidery, it mostly concentrates on Hardanger and Hedebo, but there's a little bit of surface embroidery, too.
