Meticulously crafted with recycled plastic bottle parts, metal, and perspex elements, this unique light object pays tribute to TEOTL, the Nahuatl (Aztec) expression for god, or the divine. Teotl is the creator and father of life. In its essence, it represents sacred power and continuous energy in motion. Process, movement, becoming and transmutation are essential attributes of Teotl.
The unlit SYMBIOSIS chandelier, by Thierry Jeannot, his latest evolution of a chandelier fixture, fully handcrafted out of discarded, repurposed plastic bottle parts. The pieces are created in a beautiful collaboration with a group of Mexico City's waste collectors. The artist achieves a true transformation of those specimens of plastic into a luxury symbol, a classic Chandelier. This purveys that waste/trash is indeed a luxury.
