The End of "Undifferentiated" Creative Studios...
AI is disrupting the creative landscape. As it drives down the cost of creative services, studios that simply offer "skills for hire" are facing an existential crisis. The shift from "supply-based" to "value-driven" creative services. The takeaway is studios need to evolve beyond just providing commoditized skills and explore other options. Focus on business impact. Build IP: Create unique products, services, or content. Offer a differentiated experience: Provide exceptional service
The end for creatives. AI is driving down the cost of creative.
The answer is shift to a value mindset... It's no longer enough to just produce technical creative work. You need to understand its business impact and how to communicate that value to clients. Leverage AI to create more value for your clients AND Capture a larger share of that value for yourself through productivity gains. Midjourney is not photography
Midjourney isn't replacing photography, it's evolving it. It's a new tool that requires a different skillset – one that embraces the unexpected and finds beauty in the "glitches" AI inevitably produces. Listen to the full episode with @Brenda de Vries on Youtube @AIDesignResources What are your thoughts on Midjourney? Are you embracing the glitches or sticking with traditional techniques?
The illusion of AI films
AI isn't the end of cinema, it's the next chapter. Movie magic has always been about illusion, and AI is just the latest tool in the box. Forget the labels, embrace the limitations - true creativity happens inside constraints. Show me what you've been creating.
torytelling is more important than the latest AI tech
Storytelling ALWAYS trumps the latest tech. Focus on crafting compelling narratives. Your audience will thank you for it.
How to get into AI Filmmaking
AI is NOT the enemy of creativity – it's a mother trucking WEAPON! You might sit on the sidelines afraid of it but other people are jumping in. Guillaume proves it by going from AI newbie to full-time filmmaker in record time. • Forget gatekeepers: AI gives YOU the power to make amazing videos • Zero budget? No problem! AI levels the playing field for creators • AI Awards?! AI-powered art is getting recognized Don't fear AI – embrace it. Let the doubters worry while YOU make magic happen
AI isn't the problem.
AI isn't the problem. It's a symptom of the disease plaguing the creative world – the devaluation of creativity. Creativity is subjective, hard to measure, and often undervalued by those who hold the purse strings. On my latest podcast, Kevin Rapp argues it's no wonder creatives are underpaid, undervalued, and expected to work for free. The rise of AI just exacerbates this issue.
AI the Discount Bin of Creativity
AI is the Discount Bin of Creativity Pumping out content faster than a crack-fueled copywriter. It's cheap, it's easy, it's every f*cking where. But is it good? AI-generated content is the fast fashion mass-produced version of creativity. It might get the job done, but it lacks soul, the spark of originality that makes something truly valuable. AI is creating a deluge of mediocrity, making it easier than ever for great work to stand out.
Kevin Rapp Creative Maverick
Some call Kevin Rapp a creative maverick. Here's why he refuses to jump on the AI bandwagon... Ethics: Training AI models on the entire internet without artists' consent? That's a hard pass. Efficacy vs. Hype: The reality of AI tools often falls short of the flashy promises. Legal Concerns: The tech raises serious questions about copyright and ownership. Environmental Impact: Training these massive models ain't exactly eco-friendly.
Data Laundering
When the phrase 'launder the data' becomes part of your business strategy, you know ethics have left the chat... I spoke to Kevin Rapp on the podcast about his views on AI and why he doesn't use it. Full episode goes out to my email list this Sunday -make sure you're signed up.

AI can help you understand your clients better.
Full Podcast: By using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT, you can ask insightful questions during initial client calls. For example, you could inquire about the perception of your client's company on Wall Street. This can reveal if the client is driven by fear or other factors, allowing you to tailor your approach and solutions accordingly. By leveraging AI to ask the right questions, you can build stronger relationships with clients.
