#artistsupportpledge

The #artistsupportpledge is a great initiative by @matthewburrowsstudio : you sell work for no more than £200 and if you reach £1000 you pledge to buy from another artist. This provides artists with much needed income and an incentive to keep going. Please DM or email me for details and availability about any of my art shown here.

Samson #3
I met Samson on one of my lockdown walks. He's an elderly pig and a great character. I fell for him immediately and now visit him regularly, taking bananas skins as a treat (his favourite, according to his human who is perfectly happy for me to do so). I also clamber into his enclosure and sketch him, which Samson seems to find absolutely fine. This painting, in acrylic and graphite, on 25 cm square panel, is based on my on-site sketches.

Taking a nap
I love pigs for all sorts of reasons, but artistically they make great subjects: great shapes, great expressions, great attitude. The painting is on a stretched deep-edge canvas, does not require framing and is ready to hang.

Offa's Dyke
This is a heavily textured and multi-layered painting, inspired by a favourite spot along Offa's Dyke, close to my home. I used principally acrylics and oil pastels, and also layered, partially removed and cut into the work to create a textured and weathered feel to the painting.

Across the Valley
Looking across the Ceiriog Valley - a patchwork of fields and divisions in the landscape
Under the Aqueduct
There's no canal in view, but I still regard this as a "Canal" painting because I'm under the Chirk Bank Aqueduct which carries the Llangollen Branch of the Shropshire Union canal, near my home, on a beautiful May morning. Acrylic on board, framed and ready to hang. Please DM or email me for details and availability.
Gorse in Spring
