Life Kitchens: Modern - Classic
Bright and breezy, white and easy. This look is a considered blend of classic detailing and simple contemporary styling, with an eclectic mix of neutral colours and textures. Simple cabinets leave plenty of scope to personalise with items large and small
– from tiny herb pots to overblown furniture and mismatched seating. It’s a comfortable space in which to pull up an extra chair and just join in. The stage is set: let real life commence.

Here we find thoroughly grown-up eclecticism. The feel is neither contemporary nor traditional yet is, at the same time, both. Modern elements are set alongside classic touches such as a large central table, marble-effect surfaces, Shaker doors and cornicing. It’s an eclectic mix of calming colours and textures, short on contrast and lingering in sense of space.

Statement items may be subtle, but they’re most definitely there. Boldly marbled surfaces run across worksurfaces, up splashbacks and down side panels. The large white vertical radiator blends into the wall but is nevertheless chunky and self-assured. Deeper, taller cabinets, featuring integrated ovens and a full-length pull-out larder, boast the only cornice in the room. Contemporary is always set against the classic.
