Poppies Pour Like Blood from the Tower of London - This summer, the Tower Of London will be surrounded by a sea of crimson. This installation, conceived by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, will commemorate each and every British and Colonial fatality from World War 1 by planting 888,246 red ceramic poppies in a flowing sea around the tower's dry moat.
I love how people can take something so simple and turn it into beautiful artwork and designs. In this case (in this picture) ordinary parking space lines have been made to look extraordinary by incorporating the designs of dandelion stalks. I also like how it shows a little variation by making some of the dandelions look like their little "puffballs" are flying away, as if wind is blowing them off the stem. This artsy take on modern parking lots is in general pleasing to the eye and cute.
