Mirza Sahiba is one of the four popular tragic romances of the Punjab. The other three are Heer Ranjha, Sassi Punnun and Sohni Mahiwal. Out of all the legendary stories originating from Punjab, Mirza Sahiba’s story is one of very few where the the male’s name comes first and then the female’s.
Heer Ranjha (Punjabi: ਹੀਰ ਰਾਂਝਾ, ہیر رانجھا, hīr rāñjhā) is one of several popular tragic romances of Punjab. The others are Mirza Sahiba, and Sohni Mahiwal. There are several poetic narrations of the story, the most famous being 'Heer' by Waris Shah written in 1766.
