Topic was about Glasgow so we used images from the city as our 'shadow picture' in the foreground (I've previously used images of Romans battling...can be adapted).For the background, focus was on blending colours, going from light to dark,showing sunset or sunrise...pupils were given the choice of which medium to use for the background, some chose paint, other chalks, pencils, crayons.For foreground, these were photos coloured black, photocopied& cut out but older children could draw their own.
