Wedging is not one of the most exciting parts of making ceramics, but it is an essential element of preparing the clay for throwing on the potter's wheel. It is vital to remove all the air pockets from the clay. #karendawncurtisceramics #karendawncurtis #HandmadeCeramics #makingceramics #somersetartists #WorkingWithYourHands

Here, I am using the pottery technique of pulling a handle. It takes some practice and can make students laugh when you show them the process. You can learn more about my process at the link below on my website: https://www.karendawncurtis.co.uk/gallery/album/process-page #karendawncurtisceramics #karendawncurtis #handmadeceramic #workingwithyourhands #creatives #HandmadeCollection #wellsartist
It starts with my hands, a coil of clay, and quiet focus. This relaunch is a return to the making—the slow rhythm of shaping each vessel, one layer at a time. I never rush it. Each piece carries a part of that meditative process. 👐 The collection is live — link in bio to explore. #makerinmotion #handbuiltceramics #clayritual #quietcraft #ceramicprocess

Here is an image of me making my art vessels. Each piece is coil-built with three coloured clays, and over three weeks, as they dry, I fettle and polish the surfaces until they have a beautifully refined surface. This slow process is part of the joy of creating these pieces. I hope you will enjoy them. #handmadecollection #WorkingWithYourHands #SlowLiving #karendawncurtisceramics #PeacefulAesthetic #shopindependent #HandmadeCeramics #karendawncurtis
