The currency in Plunder'd! is Gems. They are generic, coloured, emerald like gems which can come in a number of different colours (the colours don't matter and all gems collected will go to the same counter). You can buy certain buffs for your character or even buy unlockable characters and stages. There are another kind of gem, a "crystal", which I'll get to later.

Plunder'd! will feature wall-jumping similar to Super Meat Boy, but the character won't slide down walls so much.

The overworld and level selection will be very similar to that of the Super Mario Bros. series. Instead of worlds and levels being numbered, though, they will have names.

There is a certain gauge in Plunder'd! that goes up the more NPCs notice you. If you go into a dark or unnoticable areas to gradually lower the guage. When you steal things, more NPCs will attack you the hoigher the guage will be. No NPCs will attack when the guage is at zero. Light and dark spots are similar to those found in Mark of the Ninja.

Levels much later in the game will have a similar-ish design to that of Limbo.

The crystal collection screen will be similar to the Pokédex in most Pokémon games.

Drawing more inspiration from Super Meat Boy, the level desgins will be similar.

Plunder'd! will have 16 bit graphics. Sidescrollers where especially popular on the GBA which had 16 bit graphics. I also find it interesting to make a game with older graphics and is one of my favourite graphical styles.
You can also colllect Crystals in the game. This is inspired by Pokémon in that you have a Crystal collection that you can try to fill out. There will be 120 crystals in all. Crystals can only be obtained at the end of levels, stealing from certain enemies, beating certain bosses or fusing other crystals together.
