A little while ago I saw a cartoon of Dick Cheney using water-boarding to 'persuade' people to buy his book. An ingenious concept. It reflects just how difficult it is for an author to promote their books. Even giving one away isn't simple. Just recently I read a paper book I've had since 2009 - Stephen King's Under the Dome. It's a very heavy book and although I enjoyed it, it was easy to see why I had put off reading it for so long. It gave me the idea for this image.
