Get everyone you know to collect lids - from bottles, tubs and jars. They are brilliant for sorting and matching activities - lots of different shapes - you can make patterns with them - you can look for writing - the children can draw and copy them - some are embossed so they can use a wax crayons to do rubbings - the children will recognise some of them - lids from perfume bottles are special too, often shiny and unusual shapes!
