Enormous colorful rainforest pigeon with green upper-wings and back, and a pale gray head. Underwings and belly are bright yellow, with a purple chest. Common in rainforests along the east coast of Australia, as well as New Guinea. Calls frequently with a loud explosive

The Wompoo Fruit Dove "Ptilinopus magnificus", also known as Wompoo Pigeon, is the largest of Fruit Doves native to New Guinea and Australia.

Large pigeon that wanders around after fruiting trees. Inhabits tropical and subtropical rainforest. More common in north east Queensland. Even though it's large it is very shy and can be hard to spot in the foliage. Has a distinctive call that sounds a bit like "woblot woo woo" so you can tell it's around even if it's hard to spot! Seen in Cooktown, Far North Queensland.
