Peace garden school

An April 24 event organized by the Beverly Elementary School PTA held at the Sundquist Family Nature Park in Lynnwood culminated with a rock garden.

We celebrated our schools 50th anniversary on Saturday. It turned out to be an awesome event. I ran the paint a garden paver booth and loved seeing all the kids painting and getting their art on. Aren't they cool? Now, I just need to install them!

A school is not only about reading textbooks and filling exercise books. While these things are important, it's essential that teachers prepare their students for upcoming life challenges as well. And probably no one could have done it better than Sharon elementary school in Newburgh, Indiana.

This summer, Crestwood Elementary is piloting a summer program designed to teach students about Permaculture design, gardening, art, cooking, and nutrition. They are working with scientists, teachers, and permaculture gardeners with a three week curriculum. This curriculum will be available free of charge to other Nevada schools so that they can use it when designing their own summer programs.
