I am really enjoying the idea of open ended materials in homeschool. It really allows children the opportunity to be curious, creative and direct their own play. You can almost see the children thinking about how and what to do with the items. Kids today are engaging in outdoor play less frequently than previous generations. Research has shown a significant decline in outdoor playtime, with only 31% of children playing outside daily compared to 70% of their parents during childhood.
