HMS Vanguard (1946)

HMS Vanguard (23) was a British fast battleship built during the Second World War and commissioned after the war ended. The Royal Navy's last battleship, HMS Vanguard - a 'one off' ordered at the outset of WW2 to utilise stored 15 in guns, higher resourcing priorities meant that she was not completed until 1946. She remained in commission till 1960.:
