a child's drawing of a turkey with colored strips on the paper and crayons attached to it

The August art session with my little "firsties" was a HUGE success. We created "Wild About 1st Grade" self-portraits. They turned out so dang cute! It was a lot of fun to combine some guided art along with "do your own thing" directions. The bulletin board is adorable. We'll be adding their writing prompt responses to "I'm WILD About 1st Grade Because..." as soon as we finish the edit process. I created a file with the guided art directions, supply list, and writing prompts. Feel free to…

an umbrella writing activity with the words, lost umbrella spring craft

Hi friends. :) I have a fun little spring adjective craft to share with you today! It's the perfect craft for a rainy day! It's so fun and engaging - the kids forget they're even…

a paper plate that has some sort of rainbow in it and two glasses on the table

Growing Rainbow Experiment This experiment gives plenty of observation time as kiddos watch 2 sides of a rainbow grow together and make one big rainbow! Find more about this experiment here! Material ready! Kiddos will love working with the markers! Draw a rainbow on each side of the towel! Don't leave too much space between the 2 rainbows or they may not 'grow together' well. Fold the coffee filter. Put each side in a cup with a bit of water. Then it's observation time! This would also be a…
