Fade to Green - abstract painting on canvas by Sneddonia, via Flickr

Shades of green blend together to create this striking work of art. A dark, almost black, green fades to a pale, minty shade. I've used a mixture of acrylic paints, on a canvas measuring 40cm (15.8") wide by 30cm (11.8") high, to create this piece. The colours of these paints continue over the sides of the canvas on which this is painted, to give one continuous block of colour, meaning that this painting does not need to be framed.

an abstract painting with different colors and shapes

Unity in the piece is described by the continuous use in the rectaliniar and geometric repeated shapes. Disregarding the colors of the art, all the shapes would be classified as unity. Unity would also be used in the idea of the size of the shapes, the larger shapes seem to be the same size, while the medium and smaller sizes also seem to be the same size, despite postion on the canvas.

an acrylic painting of a tree in the shape of a heart hanging on a wall

Inspired by trees silhouetted against the sunset, this piece has two trees in black acrylic standing out against a purple sky in acrylic paint. These trees curve and join together to form a heart in the space between. The colours of the purple sky continue over the sides of the canvas on which this is painted, to give one continuous block of colour. This canvas measures 12cm (7") high by 18cm (5") wide.
