Biophilic school design

This week’s Welcome to the Biophilic Concrete Jungle event made the case for incorporating the principles of biophilic design into the workplace

EuroSchool Bannerghatta in Bengaluru designed by Saurabh Gupta and Akanksha Gupta, partners at Vijay Gupta Architects, is a design lesson in holistic learning against a biophilic background.

Remember that sweet childhood memory of spending summer afternoons in the treehouse playing pretend games with your friends? Something I believe everyone has been a part of is the classroom game where you set up a mini chalkboard and have a little class with your friends but we obviously loved that more than real school

The design for EuroSchool Bannerghatta, Bengaluru breaks the conventional approach to schools by creating an organic built morphology that weaves in the natural with the manmade, the built with the unbuilt.
